ME is terrible!! My ME machine works wonderfully with XP. I did upgrade the memory to 512 before upgrading (about $80), and you might improve your memory situation and see how it runs then. Make sure you buy the same kind of memory that your machine has, however. If you have your receipt from purchasing the computer, it should list the type of memory you have.
reinstall windows
Windows XP cannot be installed or reinstalled directly from DOS.
You can not simply downgrade to Windows XP from Windows Vista. If you want to completely remove Windows Vista in favor of XP, you will have to format the hard drive and reinstall the OS from scratch. Windows XP will not install on top of an existing Vista installation.
The windows website should be able to provide the steps to reinstall windows XP. Also, if the install disc is still available there may be information through there.
# Wipe it and restart your Windows XP OS from scratch. # Reinstall your drivers and utilities. # Your done.
You set the bios to CD boot. After that reinstall windows with a windows xp cd.
No
There is no direct upgrade from Windows XP to Win 7. Any of version of Win 7 you purchase will remove Win XP and all programs and data. You will need to back up all data and reinstall all programs.
You can not simply remove the Professional option from XP and revert back to Home. To take a machine from Windows XP Professional to Windows XP Home you would first need to wipe the machine (format the hard drive), then reinstall the Windows XP Home operating system. It makes little sense to do so, however, because Windows XP Professional is a hardier operating system and can perform better network tasks than Windows XP Home. Windows XP Professional Edition is the business edition of Windows XP Windows XP Home Edition is the home edition of Windows XP you cannot replace XP Professional with XP Home Edition unless you erase the windows installation and start over why would you want to do this XP Professional contains all the features of Windows XP Home Edition
Normally, the computer will not boot. And you will have to reinstall Windows XP.
