How do you take apart the dash of a 1994 cavalier to install new gauges?

on both sides of the instrument cluster there is a panel switch and dome switch, these pull straight out. After you get them out remove the clips from the back of each. Straight back behind the stering column there are two star screws (hidden by a rubber piece) remove those. Pull the dash cover straight out (might be hard). once out remove the star screws from the instrument cluster then pull it out. It will be easy to remove.

How do you fix the speedometer light in the dash of a 1995 Lexus ES?

If the needle is out you have to replace the needle itself as its an LED light. If its a dashboard light then you have to remove the face plate(two screws on the top of it) and take out the instrument cluster, take it apart and replace the bulb. Although the needles are engineered to be removed/replaced, you cannot buy a single needle. You must by the entire instrument cluster to fix this.

Will a 140MPH speedometer out of a 1992 mustang work in a 1987 mustang?

The speedometer itself will work but you will need to take the instrument cluster apart and transplant the speedometer unit from the 92 cluster into the 87 cluster. The speedo mechanism is the same but the clusters are different.

How to fix a speedometer on a Geo TrackerHow do you remove the instrument cluster?

Hi, Typically a speedometer is a non-repairable item. You can remove the instrument cluster and take it apart and see if you can play with it and you might be rewarded for your efforts, but...? The speedometer cable might be disconnected at one end or the other or the cable might have broken then it's a replacement that will be needed. When you remove the cable, jkust spin it and see if turns, also see if the speedometer sill move when you have the instrument cluster out. If the speedometer is in fact broken, then your best bet is to try a local salvage yard, we used to cal them junk yards, and see if they have a Tracker that is the same as yours and buy an instrument cluster from them also check E-Bay. You should be successful with one of those solutions. Please get back and let us know more information if you need more help. Good luck and I hope this is of help to you. Steve H.

How to remove instrument cluster?

first you must remove the screw on the bottom right of the radios molding. then remove that molding by prying it apart. then there are two screws one above and one below the hand grip located on the front part of the dash remove those screws. next under the steering wheel and above it there is a molding that meets in the middle insert a flat head horizontally and in an upward movement separate the two moldings. next tilt sterring down all the way. and forcefully remove the entire molding that is surrounding the cluster and extends out to that hand grip. next throw it in the back and you now have four screws to remove to complete the extraction of the cluster.
