Unplug the connector wire. Take the tensioner spring loose for the deck belts, then slip the belts off of the pulleys in the front of the mower right below the engine. There is a single 5/8" bolt than comes out vertically on the bottom of the pto clutch. Take that bolt out and make sure the 2 belts are slipped off of the pulleys and the pto clutch should drop right down. Make sure and remember how the spacers and the square slip pin goes in the pulley assembly above the pto clutch. Install back in the reverse that you removed it. P.S. It also helps give you more room to work if you lower the mower deck all the way "down".
The manual pto is the switch used to engage the mower deck.
remove deck...remove pto clutch and both idler pulleys and u should be able to put on
