Disconnect battery. Wrap left hand up under dash and grab switch base close to panel, feel around and you will find button, with right hand gently turn lights on,(pull knob out) and when knob reaches end of travel push in on button with left hand thumb/finger. The rest will be obvious, unscrew nut on front of switch and remove from back.

you dont HAVE to remove it but it does make it easier. removing the column it not very difficult.
With no key you will have to drill out the existing tumbler assembly from the switch in order to unscrew the ignition switch bezel.
Chevy trucks do not have an Inerita switch. Only ford.
you have to remove the steering wheel, after that you need a tool to releave the tenison on the plate that looks like a sun there is a clip to remove. after that if you look where the switch is you will see a screw, if you remove it the switch will come out.

There is no inertia switch on the Chevy truck it runs from the ecm , oil pressure switch and relay.
You will have to remove the fuel pump fuse are relay to shut the fuel system/pump off.It don't have a cut off switch.
