That would depend on local laws. You may consider getting an attourney, but in most places, you can just post eviction notices, and if they ignore, have the police deliver one. It can talke 60 days or longer to get someone out of an appartment.

If they are not your dependent the ask them to leave, if that fails then attempt to contact the landlord to evict this person, if you own this place or the landlord does not act, you can call the sheriffs dept...they will remove the offending person, forcibly if necessary.

If they are your dependant then you are kinda SOL. Also if both of your names are on the lease your kinda screwed, but hopefully your landlord would want to remove someone who isn't paying and replace them with someone who is.

In the U.S., it depends on what state you are in. In most states, you give the tenant a notice to quit, then proceed with a court cast. By the way, if you don't know these basic rules of being a landlord, you probably shouldn't be in the business.

1) A place a 3 day notice to fix or quit.

2) If the tenant refuses to fix or quit, file a writ of eviction with the court.

3) Allow the court process to work (which is usually 10-30 days)

4) If the tenant has not moved after being served with the writ of eviction, approach the court and ask to execute the writ.

5) The court will schedule a date for the writ to be executed by a bailiff. Once that day arrives, court officers will show up to physically remove a person and their property from the rental unit.

If the tenant has the legal right to live on the rental property then the landlord must follow his state's law in filing eviction proceedings against the tenant.

You need to inquire at your local housing court. The clerks can advise you of the laws in your state regarding evictions.

How do you get boyfriend to vacate apartment?

If the apartment is leased in your name only, you simply tell him to go! If he doesn't, call the authorities because by law he has to go on your request. If the apartment is leased in his name you can't make him leave - but he can make you go. If it's in both of your names, you have a problem and will have to sort it out either amongst yourselves or with mediation (if you both refuse to go).

Can you refuse to accept a summons for someone else?

No, you cannot refuse to accept a summons on behalf of someone else. The summons must be delivered to the intended recipient, and refusal to accept it does not invalidate its legal effect. If you are served with a summons meant for another person, you should inform the court or the issuing party immediately.
