If yours is like the one I'm working on (96) it's not that bad once you figure it out which I just did today. The problem is because of the proximity of the rear edge of the hood to the windshield. The wiper arms can't be pivoted up with the hood up or down. That's a problem with this style wiper arm. I solved it by first removing the wiper blades from the wiper arms. This way you can at least pivot the arms up a little bit with the hood raised. You have to lift the wiper arm somewhat to release the lock tab that holds the base of the arm on the splined shaft. Once the arm is raised slightly you can use a long nose pliers to pull the tab out. If you hold the tab out and lower the arm back down the arm will lock the tab in place so you can lift the whole arm off. To reinstall it you put the arm back in the same position it came off from. While holding the base against the splined shaft you raise the arm slightly to pivot it up and then push the tab back home. This locks the arm in place on the splined shaft. Now lower the arm and replace the wiper blade. DONE!
