How do you remove and replace the auto switch for the side mirrors on 2000 Beetle?

I've heard it is easy. Buy the part for $65 at the dealer, remove the inside door panel and the new part pops in. I have not tried it yet, but am going to attempt this weekend. I have a funny feeling I'll break something else during the process.
