It happenned to me when I accidentally placed a microwave container on the hot Ceran surface. I first soaked the deposit in Acetone (after cooling the stove - Acetone is inflammable), and then used the standard ceramic hot plate surface cleaner (I presume some kind of fine abrasive in a paste) followed by real hard rubbing. Another method is to burn it off (watch for toxic smell!), and then remove the residue marks using the normal cleaning paste. I have not tried the latter method, but a friend tells me that it works. ∙ 9y agoBaking soda and vinegar applied to burn stains will remove them from ceramic pots. After applying the baking soda and vinegar scrub the stain with a nylon pad.

Crank that burner to high and let it cook for a few minutes, the cloth should burn to ash
