Buy replacement bolts and rubbers from vw dealer - £25
cut away old rubbers to get at old bolts, they are hex key types but are probably rounded off so either drive in slightly larger spline fitting, or go directly to bolt splitter. Tighten on and you have enough space to tap loose with hammer. Replace with new suff. Terrible design & poor quality for vw.

Remove the engine cover (3 bolts) and air box (the screws to take out are numbered or arrowed - can't remember which) and then you can get to the plugs with a plug spanner on a half inch socket extension. No 4's abit tricky to get back in - don't drop it or it's hell to retrieve.
