If it's anything like my 2000 quad cab it should snap off. The facing has plastic tabs that slip into metal clips. The clips poke through holes in the plastic dash. I found this out when all the plastic tabs eventually broke and the whole thing fell off. I found a replace at the junk yard, saved all the metal clips and popped everything back in place. Hope this helps.

Remove the dash!
To take apart the dash on a 1998 Dodge Ram, you need to first remove the bezel. From there, you remove the radio. Then the screws will come undone from the sides and under the dash. Then it just pops off.

I found the easiest way to do remove the woodgrain faceplate is to take a small scewdriver, and bend the end of it until it is hooked shaped, then put the hook behind the faceplate one corner at a time, slowly pulling out until each corner pops loose. Its the best way I know how, I have took many off this way with no damage to the faceplate.

I need help removing my dash to get to the back of my stereo on my 2006 dodge ram 1500
remove the knobs and there are nuts under then to remove. Then take the nuts from the back of it under the dash and the wiring and remove. nice , duh If your stereo is an integrated faceplate unit (as most post-1991s are) there should be four holes on the faceplate, 2 on the left and 2 on the right. Check your local auto parts store and ask for a Ford Stereo Removal Tool Set. It consists of two "U" shaped pieces of wire with pointed tips. Insert the two wires into the holes in the stereo faceplate. When you feel them click, pull the stereo out of the dash.
