To remove center air vent s a t20 tool is needed. Unscrew, climate control unit and compartment. After it is pulled away, their vents are exposed. To remove air vents unscrew bolts and pop out of place.

Most of the times the center vents are part of the radio bessel SO remove the bessel by getting the instructions from "Metraonline.com". If that isn't the case then you may slide a very thin ( flat) utensil in between the vent and the dashboard where it "clips" into. Another one, check the automechanics manuals such as Haynes, Chilton's or Mitchell's. Good luck.
If it is the 1-cd AM/FM player, hit your dashboard, right above the center vents. Hopefully you didn't really jam it in there.
if you are talking about the automatic sensor that automatically turns the lights on and off, it is on the dashboard probably in between the defroster vents it is probably a small plastic or glass bubble usually you have to remove a large portion of the dashboard to replace it
you have to pop out the vents CAREFULLY and there are screws inside the vent cavity,then pop off the plastic trim under the radio and to the left of the steering wheel.
take out all pannels and about 30 screws, took me 2 hours., remove air vents and remove screws, also glove box and screws.
the dash is fairly simple to remove...all you need is a Phillips head screwdriver and a bit of patience. There are a ton or screws but they are all visible except three of them...they are located in the windshield vents but are still accessible if your careful
The heater vents above the stereo can be easily pried out. This should expose the mounting screws for the panel.
