How do you remove door panel from driver side door on a 1988 s-10 truck?

First-Remove the window crank handle. It is held on with a 'c' clip. To remove it you get a special tool that looks like a wide putty knife with slot cut out of it. You slide the tool underneath the handle from the knob end. It will pop the 'c' clip and the handle will come right off. When you got to put it back on, you put the 'c' clip into its slot on the handle, then push the handle back onto the shaft. Taking off is hard, putting on is easy. Second- Remove the door handle cover screw(s) and the arm rest screws. the arm rest should come right off. Finally- The door panel is held on with plastic push-ins. You are going to break some if not all. Go to a parts store and get some replacements. They should know what you need. This will give you an idea od what you are dealling with. These things are just pushed into holes in the door. You have to slide something behind the panel and pop them out or maybe break them off. The first ones are hard, they get easier as you get more of them loose. GM made them quick and easy to slap together but they don't care how hard it is to take off afterward. Good luck!
