1) Remove the cotterpin for the CV shaft axle nut and loosen nut
2)Jack the front of the vehicle
3) Place a jack stand under to secure the raised vehicle
4)Remove the tire
4) Remove the tie rod cotterpin & nut. Use a gear puller to loosen the tie rod joint (or use a tie rod joint splitter if you plan on replacing the tie rod ball joint).
5) Remove the axle nut
6) Remove the 2 nuts and 1 bolt for the lower ball joint.
7) Use your puller to free the axle shaft from the wheel hub. and separate the hub from the CV shaft
8) Place a pry bar between the CV shaft and transaxle and pry the CV shaft loose.
9) Remove the shaft
TO INSTALL: IMPORTANT-DO NOT BEND THE CV SHAFT JOINTS. DO NOT PULL ON THE SHAFT JOINTS. DO NOT USE A HAMMER TO INSTALL
1) Lube the CV shaft (tranaxle side) spline. Insert the shaft with the split ring retainer opening at 6 o'clock. Firmly press the shaft into the transaxle
2) Lube the wheel hub shaft spline and place wheel hub over the shaft.
3) Reinstall everything removed in removal steps. Torque each to Mfg. specs.
4) Have a beer to celebrate completion!

The switch to open the fuel filler door is on the floorboard in front of the driver's seat. Pull up.
It could be brakes, bearings, CV joint, differential or transmission. Of course there are probably even more possibilities, but that might be difficult to figure out.
its under the car next to the gas tank, on the left side, if your are standing in front of the car. you'll have to remove your muffler to get at it .

I have a 99 Chevy prizm. The throttle body is located on the driver side of the car in the engine. Following the air filter housing (the black tube) you will it connected to the engine. It will have a clamp on it. You need a screwdriver to loosen the clamp. It might be a bit hard to remove.
You gotta remove the door panel. You'll also have to remove the three screws that hold the door latch mechanism. That will allow you to access the two 10mm nuts that hold it on from inside the door.

Pry out the black housing of the CV joint with the shaft of a screw driver or long breaker bar. Lever it out against the transmission housing and a solid part of the black housing. It's a little tricky to get the right leverage and you may have to bang it, but its easy to do.
