There is no way, unfortunately, but such a feature is on the Winamp wishlist. The Winamp library cannot list the same file twice, so you're not going to have multiple iterations of the same file on your disk in the first place. If you, on the other hand, have duplicate songs on your hard drive that you want removed, I'd recommend a duplicate file cleaner (Google will bring up a nice list of programs that will get the job done), then use the "Remove missing files from media library" option on Winamp to remove the entries for the files the duplicate cleaner removed.

How do I remove artists from WINAMP's library?

Winamp has a bug, that you can't simply delete an artist from the library with one 'remove' button. So the only way to do this is in the following steps: 1. Select an album by the artist under 'Album'. Select all tracks from the album in the track listing below (ctrl +a). Press 'delete' on your keyboard. 2. Repeat this process for all albums so that all tracks by the artist are deleted. 3. In the bottom left corner, click the 'Library' button. Select 'Remove missing files from media library'. The artist will be removed from the library. This will not affect your files and folders, only the library info in winamp. This is a pretty simple process if you have a couple of albums by the artist, but can get a little irritating if you have entire discographies. Winamp should fix this with a simple 'remove' button in its next version.

How do you take backup of Winamp media library?

Try the Winamp 5 Media Library Import/Export Plug-in http://bluemars.org/ml_impex/wa5-ml_impex1.3.exe (c) AGico Or you can backup the files that this data is stored in, then after re-installing Winamp, just replace the new 'default' files with your backup files. This post will tell you where these files are stored: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=263471

Why did Winamp convert all your .mp3 files and how do you fix it?

I don't think Winamp converts all your mp3 files. Your computer just shows them as winamp files now. They're still mp3 but your computer just sees em as winamp. My comp has the same thing. I don't know how to undo the computer seeing em as winamp, but there should be no problem using those files as regular mp3 files.

Is there a program the fixes the itunes library from duplicate files?

You can use iTunes itself to remove duplicates. Go to View - Show duplicate items. That option works OK, but sometimes it deletes the wrong files (like songs with the same title that are different releases of the same song). To fix that go to View - Show Exact Duplicates. Alternatively you can use a duplicate finder that has an iTunes mode, like Easy Duplicate Finder.

How do you stop winamp fast scrolling of playlist and make it play?

This means the songs in the playlist are no longer located where they were when you first added them to your library. They will not play until you re-add the songs from their current location on your computer. First, to remove the non-working copies of the songs, right click on any song in your media library, go to "Remove..." and select "Remove all dead files". This will delete anything that scrolls instead of playing. Now, to get working copies, go to File -> Add Media to Library and browse to the folder you have your songs in, or just drag and drop the songs into Winamp. Now all of your songs should work, but you may need to recreate any playlists.
