how to remove front electric head rests on audi a8
Front seat headrests are not adjustable.
I'm afraid you cant remove the front head rests, very frustrating as I've brought new seat covers :o(
I had the same question and just talked to the dealer. They said the headrests are an active part of the airbag safety system and cannot be removed.
The head rest can be removed by inserting a small pin in the hole on the clip that does not have a button. Push the pin in that hole and lift on the headrest. You can also remove the plastic cover and just push the button.
stick straightened out heavy duty paperclip in small hole on one of the posts holders, and push the adjuster on the other side post holder but, I want to find different replacement front headrests that don't push my head forward, or learn how to rebuild the headrests. Regarding replacements, I found that the headrests from my 2006 Silverado are an exact fit in my 2010 Impala, and they are straight up so my head is not pushed forward. Even the grey cloth color is a match.
If you will carefully press in on the backside of the material of the front seat back following a straight line downward from the headrest post you will come to a tab at the end of the post. Raise the headrest to the upmost position, press with your thumb on the material and against the tab while putting just a small amount of upward pressure on the headrest and the tab will release the post. You have to do this to both posts of the headrests to remove them from the front seats. I have an 89 240 and the headrests do come off, as do all 240 wagons.
well, i was able to figure it out... i hope this helps someone else out!on the front headrests, if you are facing them from the back seat, the right post is the side with the locking pin that has to be removed. I was able to use a small screwdriver to remove the plastic insert cover and then with an awl or a small, long screwdriver I was then able to press the clip in order for the headrest to be removed completely. If I have time or if someone would like more information, I think I will be taking photos of the steps. Thanks!
how can you reset the headrests after deployment
Their is no typical up or down adjustment of the rear headrests. A release button is located to the left of the hazard light button directly in front of the shifter. That will make them fold down. You can also remove the headrests. A procedure for that is outlined in your owners manual. Up an down adjustment is not an option though.
No, they aren't. The second row are larger (same as front seats) and the posts are further apart.
