You first remove the fuel pump fuse (see your manual or check the internet) then you "start the car". The car won't run, but the fuel pressure should release. This does not mean that fuel won't drizzle out of the line or the filter, but you can clamp the line or just deal with the residual fuel.
cut the gas line at the leak put a piece of rubber gas line over the steel line and clamp it at both end this clear gas line is available at more automotive stores cominly used for gas line on lawn mowers
locate leak , if it is close to a union such as a clamp or going from rubber to metal line, try tightening clamp or cutting a small length off rubber hose and applying a new clamp

The fuel filter is on the passenger side of the engine. Open your gas cap before disconnecting the two fuel line. Loosen and remove the two fuel line fittings, then remove the bolt holding the clamp to remove the filter. Replace the filter using new washers. Check for leaks with the engine running.
You squeeze the clamp with a pliers.

you will have to drop the tank. to do so: unplug the sending unit inside the car (under the rear seat base passenger side under a flap of carpet and a plastic cap there are 2 plugs) raise and support the rear of the car on jack stands remove the filler neck bolt under the car remove the small breather hose clamp and rubber pipe and the large filler clamp and pipe. remove the purge line will need a special tool or just clip the fitting to get it apart remove the nut off both gas tank straps lower the tank (takes a bit of wiggleing) the line is clipped into the top of the sending unit. press the clip back and wiggle the line till it pulls free. the process is in reverse to install
The power steering pump has two lines attached to it. One line has a tube nut holding it to the power steering pump, the other has a hose clamp. Remove the line with the hose clamp and allow the fluid to drain.
Yes - it's illegal to tamper with a wheel clamp. You could face a charge of criminal damage if you remove the clamp.
remove fuel line and drain or run your mowe till it is out of gas.
# Raise the seat (as you would to add gas) # Remove the 2 springs that the seat rests on (use a socket with extension). # Remove the gas line, use needle nose pliers to squeeze open the clamp, then pull the hose (this is under the body panel, access from the rear, on top of the tank) # Have a helper lift up on the rear of the body panel, reach under the panel and lift the gas tank out. # Install in reverse order. The body panel is quite flexible...I called a John Deere service shop and this is how they do it. 10 minute job.
