First disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery then you need to gain access to the back of the headlight switch with your hand and locate a small spring loaded button on the switch, the button would be found close to the front of the switch. By pressing this button you will be able to remove the headlight knob with the shaft attached. Once you have removed the knob and shaft you can unscrew the nut from the outside of the dash that holds the switch in place. Once you have removed that nut you can wiggle the switch down far enough to easily unplug the wire connector from the switch.
