From my experience with RX7s, the easyest way is to drop the tank so you have enough room to get at bolts and clear the lenght of the fuel sender.
It does not stand for anything. It is just a chassis code for differing years. FD3S also just called FD is the 1992-2002 Rx7s. FC3S, or FC is the 1986-1991 Rx7s. :)
It's a translucent rectangular box attached with a black cap on in front of the firewall. If you can not locate this, sell your Rx7 immediately because you will not be able to spot an engine fire which is common on abused Rx7s and you will burn a fiery death.
On mine its an inline fuel filter by the rear (drivers side) tire. In fact, i just removed mine it was sitting vertically just past the front of the fuel tank where it starts to taper upwards. Mine was about the size of a soda can but I know there is a different type on some Rx7s that if I remember my Chilton manual (which i recommend picking up) is somewhere in the engine compartment (i will check my manual later for a more exact location)
Rx7 because it is superior in handling, looks and smooth power. Also Rx7s are much rarer on the roads.
it has two or three rotor's that spin generating power its the same rx7s and black hawk helicopters both have rotary engines. Its been proven that some rx7 rotary engines can push an upwards of 900 hp. Without any assistance from a turbo, or Nitrous Oxide Systems
Flooded starts are a common problem on all of the 2nd gen RX7s. In the 1989-1991 cars the factory added a feature to clear a flooded start; the fuel injectors cut off automatically if you apply full throttle while the starter is engaged. If that does not work, you can clear a flooded start by removing the EGI INJ fuse and cranking the engine with the fuse out, and then put the fuse back in and start normally.
First, get used to it. All RX7s like to flood. Read up on how to de-flood a rotary engine--you need to know how, and you need to carry tools to do it on the road. Be prepared, because it will happen somewhere you don't want it to. Second, All RX7s run very rich until they are fully warmed up. Therefore if you start an RX7 and shut it off without warming it up to operating temperature, it often floods. You didn't do anything wrong, nor is anything wrong with your RX7. It is just the nature of the beasties. Let's say you start it to get it out of the garage to wash it. When you shut it off, it will likely flood. Push it out instead, or go for a spin to the store and when you come home, then wash it.
Nissan has not imported this car to the U.S. and it is not certified for sale here. First off it is right hand drive. It also does not meet the DOT emissions controls test. It also has not been crash tested and certified by the DOT. Nissan does not import the Skyline although the current Japanese Skyline two-door is the car known as the Infiniti G35 Coupe in America. Parts for this car are non-existent in the U.S. There are a few importers that can sell a legal Skyline in the U.S. but they are very expensive. right hand drive doesn't mean a thing. lots of silvias (S13s) are in the US. same with *some other imports. like a wrx, some rx7s. You can legalized the Nissan skyline but you have to take away some components, and then adding things to reduce the emission and will have less horse power and it will cost thousands of dollars
