I have to jump start my Pontiac Bonneville 1988 everyday I drive it why is that.
Obviously it is time to get a new ignition switch fir this car.
how would remove brake light switch and replace on an 88 gmc
ignition switch or the starter, or ignition moudule or maybe a bad ground those are comon problems
im not to sure about the 88, but the 85 (i think are the same)disconect the battery. turn the ignition to run. remove the stearing wheel, then the lock plate behind it (using a lock plate depressor, remove the ring that holds it from popping out) after that, there are a couple screwes that hold in the ignition cylinder-remove them and pull it out with the key. need to know more about delta 88's? hit me up at cardomain@: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3115056
VERY CAREFULLY
I recommend you getting a repair manual at your local automotive store.
Remove it and bring it to a NAPA store. They will test it free.
To replace the headlight dimmer switch on an 87 Olds Delta 88 you need to open the instrument panel under the steering column. Next, remove the two screws holding the switch in place, remove old switch, and reverse directions to replace with new switch.
maybe ignition modual
ignition is sticking and let me guess it was rolling try a parkin brake I am having the same problem. I don't know the answer yet, but I know that the response above is insulting. I can tell you that it, in my case and possibly yours, is not the key switch, the ignition switch, the solenoid, or the voltage regulator.
ignition control module is under the distributor cap
