You are supposed to remove magnetic stickers every so often and before washing your car. If left over time and in hot sun, the magnetic material will adhere to the paint. Don't panic. With some work, you can remove it and leave no trace.
There is a combination of things you will probably have to do. Get a hair dryer, some WD-40, a cuticle orange stick and some paper towels.
First try warming the sticker with a hair dryer, it may warm the bond enough so you can carefully pull it off. If that does not work well, continue to warm the sticker with the hair dryer until the rubber backing is soft enough so you can scrape it off, piece by piece, using the orange stick. The stick will not scratch the paint.
Once you have scraped off as much of the sticker as possible, the residual adhesive (which wasn't supposed to stick) can be dissolved with the WD-40 and a paper towel.
The hair dryer/WD-40 method works for all kinds of adhesive stickers too. You just won't need the orange stick.
When completely removed, wash the car to remove any WD-40.
