If your problem is just a lingering mold smell (and spores that are trapped in the fabric) then I would suggest using an ozone generator or finding a dry cleaner that uses ozone for such things.
Ozone is going to break down the mold smell, but it is also going to destroy the mold spores which prevents them from turning into active mold growth in the future.
You can rent ozone generators... looks like the top Google result for "ozone generator rental" eventually leads here: http://www.ozonesolutions.com
If instead you already do have mold actively growing on the cloth (might be worth a close inspection) then you will almost certainly need to have a professional look at it.

I. VinegarA very unusual approach would be to use vinegar in removing mold stains and its smell. Vinegar is very useful and effective in removing the 'moldy' smell from clothes. Add 3/4 cup white vinegar to a load of wash. The vinegar will remove any moldy smell from clothing. Repeat this process until all traces of mold and its smell are gone. Use detergent afterwards to thoroughly clean your clothes. What's so interesting about this process is that vinegar itself is made through fermentation with the help of a certain type of mold.II. Your best bet is to remove all the visible mold from the shoes with a brush or towel. Once you've gotten all the mold you can off your leather shoes, try cleaning them with Tea Tree Oil and setting them out in the sun to fully dry and lose their smell. After they are dry you should wax your shoes to protect the leather and keep the mold from coming back.

First find the source of the dampness that is causing the smell and fix that issue. You may need to replace drywall or flooring that has become too wet. Otherwise, cleaning with bleach or other mildew killing cleaner should reduce the issue. Make sure you have enough ventilation and air for the air to dry out.
