Anything you use is going to remove the gloss at that spot. First thing I would try is clear PVC cleaner. Put some on a paper towel and wipe it across the primer quickly. I think this should remove the purple.
My husband and I are redoing a bath and he accidentally splashed purple plumbimg primer on the wall and base of the shower unit. Thought it was a done deal but here is what I did within an hour of his accident.
First I tried applying bleach to an old towel and rubbing the spots - faded some but not much difference.
Next I tried spraying the towel with Oxi-Clean laundry detergent and rubbing - still no change.
Then I tried lemon juice applied the same way - nothing.
Finally, I tried applying De-Solve It to the cloth and rubbing each spot - wah lah! It took every stain out! Had to use elbow grease but it worked and it doesn't appear to have damaged the finish at all!
Don't know if it was the combination of what I used or just the De-Solve It itself but we're very happy that we're not having to spend another $600 on our unit!
If your tub/shower are fiberglass, I find that Easy-Off Oven cleaner [no odor, blue cap] works well for the walls and floor. Removes the soap scum, lime etc with little or no elbow grease required. As for the shower curtain, I just put mine in the washer if not too bad.
Detach the shower heads first and, if it's possible, remove the cover off the shower heads. Scrub the corrosion off the shower heads by using a scrubbing pad. Use oil or lubricant if there are corrosion that are hard to remove. After removing the corrosion, soak the shower heads in a bowl of white vinegar. Let it soak for a few minutes and scrub the shower heads again using small brush or unused toothbrush. After that, let it soak again for a few minutes and rinse it properly.
To clean fiberglass showers and tubs, heat white vinegar until hot and pour into a spray bottle. Spray on shower and bathtub. Let set around 10-15 minutes and clean using a scrubbing sponge, adding more hot vinegar during the process as needed. Rinse thoroughly.
To remove soap scum off a slate shower you will need a soap scum remover cleaning product. This is the best and easiest way to remove the scum. Some people use a bar of glycerin soap and have success. However, this will make the cleaning process longer.
Depends on manufacturer. I have seen some that just lift off - as in there are two screws in the wall which locate in holes on the back of the dispenser.
what is the cost to install a fiberglass shower
Fiberglass shower stalls are available for purchase at most home improvement stores. Home Depot and Lowe's should both have these shower stalls in stock.
removing superglue can be tough. first up, make sure the shower surface is gelcoat. if it is then it's safe to use acetone to clean the superglue from the surface. test it with a rag damped with acetone in an inconspicuous area to be sure before you attack the superglue area.
if you are referring to fiberglass insulation, in modst cases it is. Fiberglass tubs and shower inserts are not. I have read where they are fire resistant but in reality they burn very nice. Fiberglass is not flammable but the epoxy used to bind it together is.
I don't know about fiberglass but I got wood stain on my nearly-white carpet and it came right up using hydrogen peroxide. It didn't bleach out the carpet either! Hope that helps.
Yes, prise it off slowly with 2 wood chisels.
Liquid Nails
New shower stalls are made of different plastics or fiberglass. Older showers are ceramic tile.
Did you write on your knees with a purple marker, or is it veins? Take a hot shower!
Raised bumps. Little if any weeping. If you are wondering if its fiberglass rash then it probably is. Itching like mad. Take a cold shower, wash and scrub with the hair follicles, hydrocortisone, benadryl, or just be a man and eat fiberglass for breakfast.
How to install a shower unitHomeowners who want to install a shower in their home can do the job themselves instead of having to pay someone to do it. Find the materials that you need to complete the shower. You will need the base for the shower, the shower door, fiberglass for the shower itself, and the attachments. Begin by building the base of the shower. Make the base tall enough to keep the water off the floor, but low enough so you can easily step over the edge to get in the shower. Construct the frame of the shower from the wood and then add the fiberglass to the wooden frame. Use caution when using fiberglass because you can get the small glass particles in your hands.Make a door frame that will house the shower door. When you finish with the frame, carefully slide the glass form the packaging into the frame. Use brackets to attach the hinges so that the door will open and shut. Make sure the door closes completely so no water leaks out of the shower. Install the plumbing attachments so you can take a shower as well as any extras you would like in the shower such as towel racks and containers for shampoo.
It would be very convenient and affordable for you to buy this item on ebay.
