Get a ratchet with a 3/8" drive. You may need a short piece of pipe for leverage. You could use a 1/2" drive (bigger wrench) with a reducer on it. Or even a breaker bar with a reducer on it, as long as it is 3/8" at the end. Crawl under the truck. On the lower passenger side you will see the belt tensioner pulley. In the arm, between the pulley and its pivot, you will see a 3/8" square hole. Put the wrench in it. With the wrench set correctly, lift the tensioner and slip the belt off of a pulley.
Also in order to loosen the serpentine belt you have to use a wrench or something and turn on the bottom pulley....easy remove the serpentine belt for the fan area and remove the two bolts that hold the alternator down and unclip the wiring harness
Piece of Cake!! remove serpentine belt (search here for answer how to), remove the lower of 2 bolts from the alternator, loosen the upper, rotate the alternator up, remove the bolt. Install is the reverse.
Remove battery connections, then slacken the serpentine belt. Removal of alternator is simple and straightforward, 3 bolts, replace in reverse order.
I recently replaced the alternator on my 96' Lumina. 1. Remove the serpentine belt off the engine by locating the belt tensioner and removing the tension req'd to remove the belt. (there is usually a diagram in the engine compt. showing the tensioner location and belt path) 2. Remove required bolts (2) I believe... & elec. harness plug from alternator. 3. Replace alternator & reverse process.
Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 1995 Chrysler LHS alternator. Remove the alternator belt. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. The alternator will come off and can be replaced with the new alternator.
A 1/2 inch ratchet should do the trick.
It is the unit in the top right corner of the serpentine belt path.
need a picture of the hookup of the alternator for a 1995 q45 infiniti
on the alternator on top is a bolt losen that bolt and it will allow you to move alternator causing belt to losin
It actually isn't that hard. Remove the front right wheel and fender liner. Use a 9/16" wrench to loosen the serpentine belt by turning the wrench clockwise. Slip the belt off the alternator. Then remove the wires and the bolts that hold the alternator to the engine. Installation is the reverse of removal.
I did a alternator replacement on my 96' Lumina Sedan 3.1. In the engine compt. there's a diagram showing the serpentine belt flow and belt tensioner location. 1. Remove the belt after releasing the tension. 2. remove the bolts from the alternator & wire plug connecion. 3. Replace & reverse order. Pretty straight forward.
slide a crescent wrench onto casting on front of tensioner, pull up towards rear of car to release tension and remove belt Do A Barrel Roll
