Remove the tailgate trim panel. Disconnect the remote control rod from the remote control. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Unbolt the latch and remove the remote control. Disconnect the lock knob rod from the remote control and remove the rod. Disconnect the lock cylinder rod from the lock cylinder. Unbolt the remote control and remove it from the liftgate. Remove 2 nuts that hold the outside handle and take it out of the liftgate. Installation is the reverse of the removal steps.

I had a problem too when I removed the battery from my Mentor's remote . Do the following ,sit inside the car , remove the remote battery , wait for 1 minute , replace the remote battery when doing so you will see that the remote light is on ! If the light is not on try again ! Now press and hold the lock button on the remote until you hesar the doors lock . Your remote is now programed .
Removing a ignition lock cylinder from a 2002 ford windstar with no key
have you checked to batteries in the remote?
You would have to drill out the center of the lock or have a locksmith pick the lock.
Get in car, close the door, make sure all doors are closed, DO NOT LOCK THE DOORS .... Put the key in the ignition, turn the key to on but without starting the car (lights on dash light up only) press and release the key lock button on the key remote in the ignition, turn key to off, without removing the key...... Turn to on without starting the car (dash lights up only) press and release the same key remote lock button again, turn the ignition off, without removing the key...... Then turn back on (lights on dash on only without starting the car, press and release the same key remote lock button again, turn off the ignition without removing the key.... Turn on the ignition once more without starting the car, press and release the same key remote lock button again and you should hear the door lock click (the locks will not cycle -- just a slight click) ....leave the key in the ignition ... Now within 3 seconds, press the lock button on all other remotes you want to program (one at a time)..... you will hear a slight lock click for each remote indicating the remotes are being programmed.... Now remove the key from the ignition and you can test the other remotes. (THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH A KEY IN THE IGNITION) You should be able to lock and unlock the doors with each new remote. The sequence of turning the key in the ignition on and off is only required with one key. (Usually one you already have programmed) That is all there is to it. It works like a charm and saves you money. My dealer wanted 1 hour shop time to program it ($65).
