Remove the instrument panel cover. Remove the instrument panel retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the gauges. The instrument panel will come out.
You need to raise the liftgate, then remove the liftgate upper trim panel. Remove the panel by carefully pulling straight out, it's only held in by spring clips. You'll now be able to access the bulb holders. Remove the bulb holders by rotating them 1/4 turn clockwise. The bulbs pull straight out from the holders. Put everything back together in reverse.

Open the rear liftgate and above the left tail light you will see a rubber fill plug The plastic reservoir is behind the plastic panel in the cargo area on the drivers side , by the liftgate , where the wheel jack is stored - if you remove the trim panel you can see the washer fluid level
On the left side kick panel ( drivers footwell ) remove the panel cover to access the fuses
In order to remove the rear door panel of 1997 Mercedes Benz e420, you need to drill out the rivets that hold that hold the door panel. Once that is done you should remove the panel in a careful manner so as not to break the plastic clips.Ê
You do not need to remove the door panel to change your speakers. Remove the speaker cover, by prying outward on the speaker cover retaining clips. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speaker.
It is probably the same way to remove it as on my 1997 venture. 1. Unscrew the handle on the bottom of the panel (2 screws) 2. Pry the sides with a screw driver(where the black plastic part is screwed to the liftgate) 3. Pull the panel down with even force on both sides, it will just come off 4. When putting it back in make sure you punch it in well

Behind the dash below and to the left of the steering wheel . Turn the ( 4 ) cover panel " pins ' counterclockwise to remove the cover panel
