You must remove the intake manifold, very simple job.
I believe there are 7 bolts in front of intake that face up, also there are 2 13mm bolts under the throtle body, 1 in the back and 1 just under right side of it.
Note make sure you disconnect battery because you might have to disconnect 1 or 2 sensors. If you have a short bungy cord connect 1 end to the hood and the other through the bolt hole on the intake, this will hold the intake up for you.
The spark plug gap on a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser with turbo is between .40 and .50. The difference is in the type of plug used.
.050 inch
What is the firing order of a 2003 or cruiser
.40 thousands and if its a champion OE spark plug its .50 thousands
the spark plugs require a 5/8 inch spark plug socket.
The automatic does not have a drain plug. You remove the pan to drain.
With mine, the rough idle was fixed by changing the spark plug wires.
You turn it counter clockwise.
Could be spark plugs, spark plug wires or the cell pack. I've had the same problem with my 2005 PT Cruiser and it was the plugs that needed changing.
One of the spark plug wires may not be installed properly causing a misfire.
No such part to remove on a PT.No such part to remove on a PT.
what is the spark plug gap on a 2003 pt cruiser with no turbo? - I replaced plugs and wires about 500 miles ago on our 2005; I gapped them all between .040 and .045, aiming for .043. I believe the under-hood sticker calls for .040. Edit: 2003 PT Cruiser plug gap is indicated under hood at .050. If you gap your plugs to .050 and the engine breaks up under a load then decrease gap in .005 increments until rectified.
