The easiest way to remove Spirit Gum is to use Spirit Gum Remover. The remover is sold at just about any place that sells spirit gum itself. Acetone may also be used, though it is harsher on skin. Alcohol or other cosmetic removers work also, though less effectively. Simply apply the remover to a swab and rub the dry spirit gum gently until it dissolves away.

Horrible stuff isn't it. When I was a chemistry teacher I was plagued by youngsters asking me to 'give them something' to remove Chewing Gum from clothes - after they had sat down on a chair on which an antisocial person had deposited this foul stuff. Of course, for both practical reasons and for safety, I was unable to do this as chewing gum is notoriously stubborn stuff.
Solvents are useless as anything that would remove the chewing gum will almost certainly damage the clothing. The only effective way I found was to put the item in a polythene bag and place in the freezer for a few hours. When completely frozen the gum becomes very brittle and will pick off quite easily, any remnants being removed with a stiff brush. In Hair...
Try peanut butter after removing most of the gum. You might also try using ice cubes to make it firm enough to brush out.
