does a vauxhallzafira2.0 dticlub have a timing belt or chain
it should be on the drivers side under the windscreen
Timing chains never need to be changed, only belts.
Hi, don't worry, your 2.0 DTI DOES NOT have a timing belt, it is a chain. I have a 2001 2.0 DTI also and had the same question so I rang a dealer and was given the good news. cheers, Dave
The camshaft sensor for a 1.9 dti is located on the gearbox. it is at the end close to the motor, held in with a single bolt.
This may not be right, but assuming this engine is as found in Zafira DTI,then the filter is a replaceable paper element. It lives in an aluminum housing with a black plastic top at the front of the engine, this needs a 36mm socket to unscrew the top.The hexagon is viewed from above more or less in the centre. For easier access I remove the rubber hose from the intercooler.Important!!!!! use torque wrench to refit, note value on filter lid, usually 25nm. You will also need to remove the plastic "ecotec"cover from the top of the engine, using a torx driver tx30 is the size.
To answer this question accurately more vehicle details are required. I took a random guess and picked a 2000 zafira A 2.0 DTI with engine code X20DTL - this has a timing chain and not a belt. The easiest way to check is to look at your engine and on the left hand side of the block where the belt would be located. If the cover is plastic there is definitely a belt in there. If its metal and appears to be an integral part of the engine its usually a chain. The reason for this is that timing chains need to run in engine oil, belts need to be clean and dry.
