I have just done this on my 1999 Vito to replace the standard wheel with a Momo and boss kit. It depends on your model. If you do not have an airbag, stick a flat head screwdriver or similar into the side of the centre merc star and pry it out, not difficult. Then take a size 27 socket with a socket wrench and extenstion bar and remove large center nut holding steering wheel in place. Give it a couple of knocks on either side from the bottom and its off. With the airbag models a bit trickier and will require removing the airbag module and doing the same as above.
