wire brush! hand scrub! or dremel tool!
Remove the front exhaust manifold and remove it from the top.
Under the front exhaust manifold. You have to remove the manifold to remove the starter.
cut the Y-pipe right in front of the brace for the front of the exhaust on the eng. get a coupling that fits over it and reassemble .
Remove the front exhaust manifold and remove the starter from the top.Pull the front exhast manifold and dipstick remove the 3 bolts with a 15mm socket or wrench pull the starter from the top
you do not need to remove the exhaust. with some minor manuevering, it should slide out a bit towards he front of the vehicle.
Disconnect the frontand rear o2 sensor electrical connectors. Separate the catalytic converter from the flex-pipe. Remove the fasteners between the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold. Disconnect the EGR tube from the catalytic converter. Remove band from the front of the catalytic that holds it to the bracket on the front of the engine block. Remove fasteners holding exhaust manifold to head.
Remove the air inlet duct tube. Remove the heat shield from the exhaust and move it out of the way. Unbolt the crossover exhaust pipe bolts from the from the front exhaust pipes move it out of the way. Unbolt the thermostat housing pipe and remove the thermostat. Installation is reverse.
The exhaust lifters will line up with the exhaust manifolds,Remove the valve cover if your working on a V8 and the valve that lines up with the exhaust port will be the exhaust valve,If it is a Chevy V8 they will be from standing in front of the car exhaust,intake,intake,exhaust,exhaust,intake,intake,exhaust.
There is a washer in the front of exhaust pipe remove it this will make it fastr
probably at the front of the engine underneath the exhaust manifold. Remove the heat shield on the exhaust manifold and you should be able to see it underneath.
remove the front bumper lights and slam panel remove all the hoses, connectors, cv joints, exhaust, power steering pipe, fuel pipes undew the 3 engine mounts and drag it out the front with the gearbox
First take off the exhaust by removing the two exhaust nuts at the front of the engine, then remove the two rear nuts near the main part of the exhaust . Remove the plastic cap over the center nut on the rear wheel, then remove the nut and washer and slide or wiggle the rear wheel off the rear spline. Job done.
