you need a ball joint press which you can rent at your local auto parts store
remove all retaining clips and loosen transvecular joint be careful not to damage the wobbler shaft then gain access to the lower grille by the muffler bearing right beside the canooter valve
Remove your idler pulley first. it is the pulley right next to the alternator.
Remove the tire and wheel. Remove the nut from the top of the ball joint. Pound the ball joint out with a hammer or mallet. Reverse the process to install the new ball joint.
Must replace lower control arm as a complete unit. Search around and it can be had for under $70 - rockauto and some eBay listings have low prices. Remove 2 bolts from cradle - drop arm connector - remove 1 bolt on the ball joint pinch assembly - pull the other part of arm out of rotator cup - lower arm drops out - then reverse to install.
Underneath the plastic on column,right hand lower side...accessible without dropping column.
The lower balljoint is pressed into the lower control arm.To remove the balljoint,you need to rent or buy a balljoint press kit.It makes it alot easier.The balljoint is connected to the spindle by a bolt and nut.Once it is removed you should be able to separate the Ball joint and spindle.The control arm is connected to the frame by two bolts to the crossmember.You may want to remove the brake caliper and hang it off to the side with some wire.remove the rotor to give you a better view.I suggest that you get a chiltons manual or equivelent to give you the finer details of this job.Be sure to use jackstands and work safely!! I had to replace the right lower ball joint . I suggest you get the lower control arm I paid about 100 for one it has the ball joint already pressed in . and I did it with basic tools and a friend in about an hour .
jack the car up and support the right front side under the body. remove the tire, brake caliper, the abs sensor if any. Next remove the carter pin, remove the spring washer, and then remove the large nut. I think it is 1 1/4 in should do the trick. Next take a punch and center it on the cv shaft and strike it with a hammer to remove the tension on the splines between the cv shaft and rotor drive flang. You will know it worked when you can push in the center shaft where you removed the nut from. Now remove the carter pins form the upper ball joint and the lower ball joint. Now remove the nuts on the outer tire rod end, the upper and lower ball joint. Next separate the tirerod from the knuckle arm and place a jack under the lower control arm to support it. Then separate the upper ball joint and the lower ball joint last. Now you can remove the spindle with the rotor attached from the car. You should be able to pull the cv shaft out without a problem. To assemble just do in reverse.
THE BETTER WAY FOR ME ITS TO LOWER THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CRADDLE AND THEY GO DOWN .I LEAVE THE RIGHT SIDE AXLE BUY I REMOVE THE STABILISER BAR AND ALSO THE BALL JOINT ON THE RIGHT SIDE TO GET MORE CLEARANCE JUST JACK THE CAR SAFELY AND THAT IT

There is an icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen and if you scroll over it, it say "Safely Remove Hardware." Right click on it, select the device, click remove, and then you are good.
On the lower right of the rad. Sometimes it is easier to remove the lower rad hose.
