Using an 11mm socket on a universal (wobbly) joint remove the nut that attaches the earth strap to the engine block. This is located on the right rear of the engine hiding behind the oil pipes.
Next remove the left hand side panel, undo the nut that fixes the battery retaining strap and then move the strap clear of the battery.
Remove the 10mm positive battery terminal nut behind the red cover and you should now be able to pull the battery straight out taking the negative strap with it.
I have this same problem on a 2009 street bob. Let me know if you find an answer. Mark

The most common way that people make their Harley exhaust louder is to knock a hole in the exhaust baffles. To do this insert an iron bar into the exhaust pipe and then hit it several times with a large hammer.
The battery, on a 2009 Dodge avenger, can be removed by first removing the battery cover. Remove the battery cables and the retaining rod. The battery can be lifted out.

Like most modern vehicles, Harleys use a 12 volt system. However, the correct voltage reading on a modern sealed Harley battery should be no less than 12.8 volts two hours after charging. Any less means the battery is beginning to fail.
Remove the right cover below the fuel tank and you get to the battery.
