this is for a 2004 Jeep wrangler but i am still having problems:
there is a bolt underneath the cup holder.
and i THINK there are 2 more bolts underneath the jeep next to the E brake
i cant seem to find the right size socket to fit it.
send more feedback please
i need to know also
just to add on to this, there are 6 bolts in all. 2 inside the lock box, 2 beside the lock box (around the level of the handbrake), 1 in the forward cup holder and 1 under the shift boot. i used a 10 mil socket to get the bolts out of the side of the lock box. hopefully this helps.
1993 Volvo 240 WAGON 5spd manual transmission. there are two screws on iether side of the console. then its just a matter of disconnecting wires.
Depending on the year the car was built. For the 2007-2008 USDM Honda Fits (GD3), there is a Honda OEM center console with an armrest built in which was only made for the Japanese Fits. These can generally be bought for around $300 and install relatively easily. If you have the 2009 USDM Honda Fit (GE8), then Honda offers a center console with an armrest for Fits equipped with the automatic transmission only. I'm not 100% sure why they are not available for the manual transmission Fits, but I hear that it has something to do with the driver hitting their arm on the console when shifting into 2nd, 4th, and Reverse gears which presents a risk of mis-shifting which can not only be damaging to the synchros in the transmission, but also potentially hazardous at highway speeds. The 2009 Fit Sport has a built in folding armrest in the drivers seat, not a console.
You will, not only have to replace the transmission as well as the center console inside the car, but also the rear gear box (differential) because the automatic and manual have different gear ratios. You will also need to replace the ecu.
I would guess you're talking about the button on the center console under the ashtray. You slide the domed console forward to reveal the button. Hope this helps.
Converting a manual transmission to automatic transmission is not possible but you can replace a manual transmission to an automativ transmission . That is also an expensive deal.
A lot more work than it is worth, you will need to change the brake pedal, Remove the clutch pedal, master cylinder and slave, trans mounts may be different, center console, flexplate and torque converter
there is no fluid for a manual transmission
This is the service manual for 2004 model, but the center console should be the same. Had this problem for a long time, and this finally helped me to remove it. Finding the parts for it is another story though... http://www.users.on.net/~bmrogers/2004.zip
If you have an automatic transmission there is no drain plug, you'll have to drop the pan to change the fluid. If you have a manual transmission the drain plug is in the center on the bottom.
The switch is under the center console, screws are on the sides, at the base of the shifter handle. Try using CNC Contact cleaner and adjusting the switch position before replacing.
manual
If your transmission is manual, you will have to change gear. If it is automatic, you won't.
