Follow the below steps to remove the dash board in 1998 Firebird:

1) Disconnect the negative battery cable from the car's battery.

2) Open both driver-side and passenger-side doors and locate bolts that are securing the dash directly to the frame. The bolts are located right along the side of the dash and will run up the edge. Now use a screwdriver to unfasten the radio bracket to remove the radio. Unhook all electrical wiring from the back side of the radio. Slide the radio straight out of the dash of the car.

3) Open the glove box and locate the both bolts that are mounted to the rear-end of the glove box. Remove these bolts from both sides of the dash. Remove all the bolts that are inside the glove box by using a socket and ratchet and turning counter-clockwise.

4) Finally, remove both bolts that are securing the frame and dash together, these are on the center-bottom of the dash, about two inches from the floor. Use the 10-mm socket and ratchet and remove by turning counter-clockwise. Pull forward when removing the dash off the frame of the vehicle.
