Warning: Before attempting this repair, be sure to disconnect the battery cables. There still may be residual current flowing to the module, so never put your head or face in front of the bag while working on it. Perform this job at your own risk, and please exercise extreme caution. It's not a difficult job, but it's probably best left to professionals. With that said:
There are four 10mm screws located on the back of the steering wheel that must be removed to lift out the air bag module. Once you have the module out, remove the green tab from the wire harness attached to the air bag. The green tab just pulls out allowing the clip to be unfastened.

take out the 2 bolts that hold it
Remove neg on battery for 3 minutes.

Correction: It is a 1995 Chevy Corsica. Not a 1996.
The side view mirror on a 1995 Chevy Corsica is mounted by screws. Remove the screws and panel for the mirror on the inside of the vehicle. Pull and replace the unit.
you need to remove the taillight assembly. you will see all the bulbs.
Airbag disableTurn the sterring wheel to the straight ahead position, place the ignition switch in lock, remove the key, then remove the airbag fuse from the fuse block. Remove the knee bolster and sound insulator panel below the instrument panel. Unplug the yellow connector position assurance (CPA) sterring column harness connector at the base of the steering column.

Open the trunk, look for some plastic nuts, remove these and remove your rear lens assembly; remove sockets from assembly.
