I used an axle puller and wraped a thin security cable around the inner cv then the other end to puller with claw disc/nut. o---o cable less then a foot away then bang the slide till cv pops out. easier than popping it out from the pass side unless your doing that side as well.
under the hood, at the back of the headlight assembly, you'll see a round plastic dome. This is the seal to the headlight. Unscrew it (1/4 to 1/2 turn) look for and release the 'pin' that holds the halogen bulb in place and the bulb will easily slide out of its housing. Check your manual as well, it'll have full illustrations.
Open the hood - reach behind the headlight housing assembly and unplug the electrical connector - remove the rubber weatherproofing boot - release the bulb-holder retaining clip and pull the bulbholder assembly straight out. Installation is the reverse of removal.
remove the 2 screws above headlights that you see when you lift the hood...then push whole assembly towards the center of the car to release clips. housing will come out then you can change bulb
Try the trunk release on/off button located in the glove box. If this button is in the off position then the trunk release button will not work.
1. Open and prop up hood. 2. Release clamping latch on side of headlamp housing, then rotate locking ring upwards. 3. Slide the headlamp assembly forward out of the housing. 4. Release latch on the black cover at the rear of the headlamp assembly and remove same. 5. Remove the wire connector from the rear of the bulb, flip up locking lever, and remove the spent bulb. 6. Reassemble in reverse order. Quick, easy, and does not require the removal of the battery and electrical package.

When you look under the hood, back side of the head lamp, you will see 3 small clips. Use a screw driver to release them, head lamp housing then just comes out from the out side.

Per Haynes Ford Ranger Pickups Repair Manual: Steps for removal are: (1)open the hood; (2)unscrew the retainer from the back of the headlight; (3)pull the bulb socket out of the headlight assembly; (4)pull out the housing clips and remove the housing from the grille opening;(5)NOTE: on later models, there are only two clips that are pulled up to release the headlight housing. They are located on the back of the housing - one on each side. After pulling them up, simply move the headlight housing forward from the vehicle. (6)the steps for installing it back are the reverse of the removal steps.

on top of headlight assembly are 2 plastic slide pins, pull up on these to release assembly. when putting back on. push in on assembly to put slide pins down to hold assembly in.
