if you're asking about the wheel and tire, loosen the lugnuts while the vehicle is on the ground, jack it up, then remove the lugnuts. If you're asking about taking the tire off the rim, it's easier to have a shop do it. Just take the tire and wheel in and ask them to take it off, should never cost more than a few bucks. If your wheel is wedged onto the hub, jack the car up and put jack stand underneath the vehicle - DON'T PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE WITH A JACK ONLY! Loosen the lug nuts slightly. Jack up the vehicle. Loosen the lug nuts all the way out - don't totally remove them or you may end up having the wheel fall on you. With the vehicle SECURELY raised on jack stands, position a block of wood near the edge of the wheel rim. Hit the block of wood with a large mallet - don't hit the rim with the mallet or you will damage it. If you don't have a mallet, wear soft-soled shoes and give the edge of the rim a good, solid blow (or two or three) with the heel of your foot. Otherwise, if the wheel is rusted on, you also can try to loosen the lug nuts with a wrench etc. and then re-tighten them by hand when the car is on the ground. Re-loosen the lug nuts about 1/4 of a turn, preferrably on cement or tar. then just drive the car forward a little bit and press the brakes hard, after doing this once or twice it may break loose enough that you can continue to take the wheel off the car with a jack ect.

THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER>>> THIS IS THE REAL QUESTION>>> I have a 5spd 1999 Chevy S10 with 2WD. I got stuck in the snow, and had trouble getting out. This morning I tried again. My passenger side rear tire spins to go forward, but the drivers side rear tire will not. If I put it in reverse, both tires move. I know if the drivers side tire moved I would be able to get out of the parking lot. Any idea what this could be?
