The round base that is up against the ceiling needs to turn counter clockwise about a third of a rotation then it will drop out. mine was stuck so tight that I had to crush that round base before it would turn and come out but since I was replacing the visor (sounds like what you are doing) it was garbage anyway.
put screwdriver in slot then pull visor toward you using visor to rotate entire bracket including screwdriver a quarter turn ., will pop right out , the visor bar gives you the leverage to rotate it with out breaking it .
