take the 4 bolts out of the rear drive shaft and rear end flange. Use a crowbar to pry it forward just a little from that flange and it should be loose enough to fall and hit the ground. After that just pull it out of the transmission... it just slides out. Transmission Fluid could start pouring out where you just pulled the drive shaft out.

It mostly depends upon the motor that is in your vehicle and the motor in the vehicle in which you are removing the transmission from. It should work as long as they are removed from the same motors. The transmission on a 4cyl will not bolt to a 6cyl. www.FordRanger.net
