Have you loosened the brake adjuster so the pads are retracted from the drum? To learn how to do this, get a copy of a service manual for your truck. A chilton manual from an auto parts store would be sufficient.
If the drum still won't come off, and you are prepared to replace them with new ones, take a 5 lb sledge hammer and break the drum.
THERE SHOULD BE A RUBBER PLUG ON THE INSIDE OF THE BACKING PLATE. FROM THERE YOU CAN LOOSEN OFF THE ADJUSTER. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO USE TWO SCREWDRIVERS, ONE TO HOLD THE ADJUSTING ARM OUT OF THE WAY WHILE TURNING ADJUSTER.
