Pull or pry evenly straight up. It is held in place with plastic clips. DO NOT TWIST it will only turn the cap and you will mess up the gauge window. The wiring runs through a small hole and comes out the bottom of the tank. The plug is tucked in under the tank next to the can.can you open the gauge the wire is broken off

∙ 14y agoJust lift up whole cap using flat wide screwdriver. Place some piece of rubber or plastic between tank and cap to avoid scratches. Cap is pressed down into tank. Need little more power.
