The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank, attached to the fuel gage sending unit, and may be serviced separately. Access is through the fuel filler door in the body.
Replacement proceedure1. Disconnect battery ground cable.2. Remove fuel filler door.
3. Remove fuel cap.
4. Remove the rubber fuel tank filler neck housing and disconnect drain hose.
5. Remove screws attaching fuel meter/fuel pump to tank.
6. Disconnect fuel lines, fuel vapor line and electrical connector.
7. Remove fuel meter/fuel pump and gasket.
8. Replace fuel pump.
9. Install replacement unit in reverse order.
The fuel pump operates at 13 PSI.
With a fuel pressure gauge.

You will need a fuel pressure guage to check the fuel pump. The pump operates at 13 psi.
Begin by removing the fuel pump wiring harness. Remove the fuel pump lines. Remove the fuel pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new fuel pump.

The 1984 Crossfire 350 very regularly had fuel pump and filter problems. Make sure it's getting fuel. I replaced the fuel pump
remove fuel tank located between the two seats under car and remove fuel pump.
the fuel pump is located under the fuel lid remove the lid and you will see a square plate with bolts remove bolts and pump sender comes out change pump then reassemble

Either - Instrument cluster has internal failure in it, thus requiring removal of the cluster to be sent out for repairs. - Sending unit has failed, thus needing replacement, it is attached at the fuel pump (you remove the fuel filler neck to remove pump and sending unit)
