The best way is to remove the bolts that hold the bed of the truck to the frame. There will be 6. Get 3 friends. disconnect the tail light/backup lights wiring harness (there are 2 plugs). pick up the bed, and whala! there is complete access to the fuel pump. Check you shocks, and everything else too. Make sure you clean around the retaining ring of the fuel pump real well, blow away all dirt. disconnect the wiring harness from the fuel pump. Remove the retaining ring and remove the pump. To re-install, follow these steps backward. Remember to check all other parts while you have the bed off. You have a great opportunity to do so.
