It's a pretty easy job....Start by getting a few things out of the way. That big black box you see when you open the hood. Then the throttle cable and cruise cable and bracket. Two little mounting clamps that are on the fuel lines, one is on top bolted to the exhaust cam tower and the other is below, down by the power steering pump bolted to the block. Unplug the injector harness at the main plugin by the altenator. Then you can remove the two bolts that mount the fuel rail. Then just wiggle and pull to remove the rail, injectors, regulator and all as a unit. Be sure that the O-rings on the injectors dont stay stuck in the injector port holes or you will have to remove the intake manifold to get them out if they fall inside. But that ain't no big deal to do that, either. Lubicate the O-rings with a drop of engine oil when installing. New ones should be used, but I haven't had to yet.The oil helps them to slide in, seal up, and slightly expand.
Remove the fuel rail
frame rail
Remove the fuel rail.It is on the end of the fuel rail with a vacuum line attached.
Fuel Pressure Regulator is located on the fuel rail.
Relieve the fuel pressure. Unplug the injector rail wire harness. Remove the two fuel rail mounting bolts and the small screw and clip that secure the lines to the exhaust camshaft housing. Pull strait out while wiggling the fuel rail. At the top of the injector, remove the clip and unplug the electric. Remove the clip on the bottom of the rail that holds the injector in. Pull the injector strait out. Check that the O-rings are still attached to the bottom of the injector and at the top. If not, CAREFULLY.. remove them from the holes that they were mounted in.
You do not need to remove the fuel rail to remove the spark plugs.
remove fuel rail and any hoses plus air cleaner
Along the reaer or the motor on the top is the fuel rail. It has the four injectors with their respective wiring harnesses. They all look identical. On the driver's side of the fuel rail is a metal cylinder standing vertically and suspended by the fuel rail mounting bracket. the fuel connection come out of the bottom and a vacuum lines is attached on the top. I believe you need a T-27 torx bit to remove it.
Show me where it is?
A vacuum operated daiphram valve located on top of the fuel rail
its on the fuel rail, it actually takes temperature of the rail not fuel.
Have to remove the fuel rail's to get to them.
