Big job. The tank has to come off from behind. Have to remove the bags and rear wheel.---Remove the seat,and top compartment,remove rear fender, shocks,and rear wheel. Disconnect all fuel lines, remove the cross plate from the frame. Disconnect sensors, and fuel gauge, battery and holder.Remove rear brake fluid reservoir from the frame,Remove the fuel filter bracket,turn valve off,remove fuel tank mount bolt. Move the tank to the rear and out. Good luck.

I hope you are ready for this...... Remove the seat and top compartment ( plastic tank cover ) remove the rear fender,rear shocks,and the wheel.Disconnect the overflow tube from the overflow tray. Remove the cross plate from the frame. Disconnect fuel gauge sensor and ground terminals from the sensor. Remove battery, and battery holder from frame. Remove the rear brake fluid reservoir from the frame. Still with me ? Remove the nut holding the fuel filter bracket to the fuel tank. Turn the fuel valve off and remove it from the tank. Remove the fuel tank mount bolt. Move the fuel tank to the rear and out of the frame. Sounds big, but once you get started it will be just a matter of time. If you have a dresser you will have to remove side bags. Good luck.

Yes it does, If it's older then a 1986 then it is on the passenger side of the engine up towards the front. If it is newer then a 1986 then you can find it in the fuel tank. Will have to remove the fuel tank to get to it.
Drop the fuel tank or remove the bed to access the pump.

It is in the inlet to the carburettor. Remove the fuel line at the carburettor and then the large nut (1 inch). Remove the filter and be careful not to lose the spring.
