First take out spare tire and everything that will be in the way of seeing the tank. then you need to take off the rear bumper skin. there are about 25 30 bolts holding it on. just look for them and take them out. it took me 2 hours to get it off so be patient. (I'm doing this in my back yard with the rear of the car on stands.) make sure to remove all electrical connections before letting the skin fall or you moving it too far. make sure to disconnect the connections to the side markers, tail lights, sender and such. now undo the rubber fuel lines connected to the sender. the next step is where i got stuck and couldn't find an answer to what to do next. if you try to take the gas tank out the back right now it will not fit.... trust me. there are 6 bolts that are stopping it from coming out. its on the frame rails just behind the tank. there are 4 bolts on either side that hold on the back sub frame. undo the closest 3 to the tank on both sides. leave 1 in on each side so when you put it back together you wont want to start swearing and throwing wrenches. it will be a lot easier to put back together and align properly. after you undo these bolts the frame rails will be able to drop down about 4 to 5 inches. then wrestle the tank out of its resting spot.
