The gear stick not is held on with a retaining clip. The retaining clip is just below the gear shift not. Hold the retaining clip in, on both sides. The knob will come off.
On the right side, above the gear box. I is placed behind the pipes of the cooling system.
my car renault clio 2005 found problem in gear box who open to change oil and clean filter gear ? found video about this question
Take out the ashtray (in front of the gear stick) and in there you will find the connector
it unscrews
Smoke coming out of steering box usually means the fluid is burned. It can also mean that the steering gear is failing.
Because of some french idiots, you have to remove the gearbox. And to remove the gearbox... omg
The same way you change it on any other cars dip-stick! was the first answer but not a well educated one. Renault use a no-key design for the lower (crank) gear, but u prob know that, that's why u r here. just mark everything carefully and lock the crank by jamming the ring-gear, there is an opening for u 2 access it already. if u r good it will work, mine did and still does
Is this a diesel? Usually a curly spring means that your glow plugs are on.
linkage is sticking
They just glue it on at the factory. So just pull hard and twist it at the same time, and it will come off quite easily.
The gear stick has a diagram of where to move the stick to engage a certain gear. For example, if Gear 1 is in the top left corner, you must move the stick to the fair left, then forwards to engage first gear. Oh, and you have to push down the clutch each time you change gear.
I Have Just Very Succesfully Changed My Renault Clio MK2 5 Gear Lift Reverse I Purchased A New Knob From Ebay Nice Looking And An Extra Bonus As It Displayed Gears With The Top Left Pull Up Reverse. If Yours Is A Lift-Up Reverse Make Sure You Buy A Lift-Up Reverse Gear Knob The Old Gear Knob Is Just Glued On Give It A Twist And Pull Or Get A Knife- Hacksaw Like I Did, Then The Grey Cover Should Eventually Pull Off Then There Will Be A Yellow Adapter Glueded On Hacksaw And Sand That Off. Then Get Your New One Should Fit Like Mine Did Mine Fortunatly Screwed On You May Have To Put A Load Of Glue Round It All Depends On Your New Gear Knob! Good Luck p.s It Makes A Lot Of Mess When Doing This But I Found It Really Easy And This Is My New First Car So If I Can Do It Then You Should!!!
