IT IS NOT NECESSARY WITH THIS METHOD.
Make tool 1/4 x 1 x 14 using flat bar.
This site should allow pictures. Clip is made by making a notch in the end of the flat bar 3/32" x 1/2". Cut slots in the notch of bar with a 32 tooth hack saw blade to hold the clip. This clip tool is used to hold the clip for removal and replace.

Bezel. Attach tool to lower clip to remove.
Remove top two clips with snap ring pliers.

This is much quicker than any other method.
Open the hood to the engine compartment. The headlight assembly is secured by four retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts. Remove the wiring harness from the headlight. The entire headlight assembly will come free. Reverse the process to install the new headlight assembly.
It is at the rear of the headlamp assembly where the wires are.
ou have to remove the headlight assembly by removing the two screws on top and pull out the assembly. The screws will be long. After you remove the headlight assembly there is two sets of wires one for your turn signal and one for your headlight grab a hold of the headlight up close to the assembly and turn it. when you have turned it enough it should be able to come out then you put the new bulb in and reinstall everything.

It is built into the headlight switch.
you go in from the backside of the headlight assembly (under hood) it come out similar to the way we used to change tail light bulbs
First, you will need a t-27 star screwdriver. Remove the screws that hold in the turn signal bezel. Then remove the screws that hold in the headlight assembly. Locate the 3 wire plug that connects to the headlight. Remove this plug. Remove the bulb from the headlight assembly. Do not twist the assembly, because there is a line-up nouch built in to the assembly. Replace the defective bulb, being extremely careful not to touch the bulb with your fingers. The oil on your hands will cause a hot spot and may cause the bulb to explode. Installation is the reverse of removal.
Are you changing the headlight bulb, or the entire headlight assembly? Either way it would be much easier and time saving to go to your local autoparts store and pick up a HAYNES guide which has complete instructions and pictures.
You have to replace the entire headlight assembly not just the cover.
The 1996 Jeep Cherokee headlight relay switch can be found on the firewall in the engine compartment. The headlight relay switch will be on the drivers side of the firewall.
Under the hood right above the head lamp are 2 torx screws - 1 on each side. Remove each screw then pull the entire headlamp assembly out. Twist and pull the bulb sockets to remove them.
No, they are part of the headlight assembly.
There ain't one
remove the battery or the storage box to see the screws that need to be removed,or remove the grille to see the complete headlight setup If it is like the 1999 Suburban, there are 2 hex shaped rods comming out of the top of the headlamp assembly. You can see these above the headlight after opening the hood. Just use a small socket (5/16" I believe) and unscrew these 2 rods and the headlight assembly can be removed (it drops out of the front) thereby exposing the headlight bulbs... . Correct - the 1996 is exactly as described for the 1999. I did it; it took less than 10 mintues to do both headlights. You may want to get a full set of four and do the high beams at the same time. No extra work, but they are different bulbs. The small socket should be 3/16".
You can click on the information on the right and it will take you through each procedure.http://www.toyotaownersonline.com/parts-service/diy.htmlThe info at the link (above) is for simple maintenance items (headlight BULB, not headlight ASSEMBLY), specifically: Air Filter, Battery, Bulb, Distributor Cap, Dome Lamp, Engine Oil & Filter, Fuel Filter, PCV Valve, Radiator Hose, Spark Plugs, Thermostat or Wiper Insertto REPLACE a Headlight Assembly for a 1996 CAMRY, follow these directions: open hoodremove 2 (10mm) bolts that attach the center grille trim to the headlight assemblies.remove the (phillips) screw that attaches the "corner light" to each headlight assemblygently pry the corner light off by inserting a thin plastic blade between the corner light and the headlight assembly where they meet at the FRONT of the vehicle -- PRY TOWARDS THE SIDE of the vehicle, once the screw was removed (#3 above) it is just a "snap fit" that holds the corner light in place.disconnect the headlight electrical connections (2 each) on each headlight assemblyremove the 10mm nut that was covered by the corner lightremove the remaining 10mm bolts holding the headlight assembly in placeremove the headlight assembly - VOILA!RE-ASSEMBLE in reverse order. 15 minutes for each side (includes drinking a beer to celebrate).
A starter solenoid will be located on top of the starter assembly. A 1996 Toyota Tacoma starter assembly is located under the vehicle next to the passenger wheel.
Remove the plastic cover over the drivers side headlights, then remove the headlight assembly(driver side only). The horn is directly underneath it - fairly easy to access, remove, replace, whatever you need to do. I replaced mine in no time.
Remove battery, remove horn, remove wire, twist bulb counter-clockwise to remove.
The headlight bulb on a 1996 Jaguar XJ6 is replaced by disconnecting the wiring harness and twisting the bulb assembly. The bulb can then be pulled from the lenses and a new bulb put in place.
It is on the driver side, behind headlight.
You have to open the hood, unscrew the front turn siganls, remove the bulbs, remove the bolts holding on the grill, release the 2 bottom tabs of the grill(through the turn signal holes), make sure marker lights are disconnected and remove the grill. undo 4 bolts on each headlight assembly and remove/change/replace the bulbs. Intallation is reverse.
The headlamp assembly just snaps on and off. There are four attachments (one in each corner). Give the assembly a firm pull out, and it should pop on out
The side marker removal is using a flathead screwdriver to gently pry it off from the side. The turn signal, you have to remove the sealing cover (located on the back side of the headlight assembly under the hood) by turning it counterclockwise. Remove the bulb by turning it counterclockwise.
headlight must be replaced as an assembly bulb can be replaced by turning and pulling
I had this same dilemma. You must remove the whole headlight assembly. It is very easy by turning two L-shaped knobs just behind the assembly. Once you have the assembly removed, it is very easy to change the bulb by twisting the bulb out of its socket. Be sure not to touch the new bulb with your skin, or oils on your skin will cause overheating of the glass and lead to premature bulb failure.
