just did my 99's, remove the two screws-nothing else- then it wiggle out.
Ok, here's the start for this one. Reference is yesterday's frustrating experience. My initial conclusions are to buy a manual or take it to the dealer. I wouldn't want to take it to anyone who has no experience with it. Our's is a 2005. Tried to replace the left front yesterday. The retainer ring was so tight I had to place a long stem scredriver blade against it and hit the handle. Got the ring off and next challenge was the retaining latch holding the electrical connector on the bulb. With the screwdriver I was able to pry it up enough to free the bulb but the only pivot point is painted so use a cloth to protect the paint. I got the bulb out of the housing but there was no way to get it out. 4 electrical connectors were in the way and their latches would not even move. I don't know what they are and didn't want to mess with them. Next attempt was to remove the whole housing. Two silver gray screws on top were easy to remove. The one to the center of the car is about 6-8 inches long, the other about 3. But the fascia holds the assembly in. Tried levering it down but the corners of the headlight housing wouldn't clear it. Looks like the fascia has to be loosened. One note of good news is that I finally found the battery---underneath all of that. Ford headlight R/R never looked so easy.
