You have to reach up behind the dash and push a small spring loaded button on the headlight switch, then the knob and shaft will pull out as one.

No a 1972 Chevy pickup is not the same model as a 1973 Chevy pickup. I believe it goes from 1967-1972, 1973-1980, 1981-1987. Doors will work from 1973-1976, 1977-1987. You would need to find 1972 doors as they are the only ones taht will fit a 1972. 1967-1971 are the same but there is something different about 1972 doors.
Twenty gallons per tank.
The proper spark plug gap for a 1980 Chevy 350 Pickup is .045, according to spark plug manufacturer (Autolite, Bosch, NGK) specs.
there is an ignition box about three quarters of the way down the serring collom that can be removed and oporated by a bent pice of wire
I just saw this in a Goldwing Repair book at the dealer. First look at the headlight adjustment knob inside the faring. Twist it until you see a retaining screw. Remove the screw and then remove the knob. There should be a nut around the main headlight shaft that you can remove, which will then allow you to slide the entire headlight assembly out through the front of the fairing. Once the whole assembly is out, remove the retaining ring and disassemble the light housing. Reverse the process to reassemble.Good luck!
